One question that i thought i could easily find in google but alas. here's it:
Wincls1 hosts Sqlcls1 and Wincls2 hosts Sqlcls2. Can i shutdown the Wincls1 boxes and rename Wincls2 to Wincls1 and SqlCls2 to Sqlcls1? Further, can i just rename Sqlcls2 to Sqlcls1 without changing Wincls1?
Say its a part of data centre migration. Any links for doing the same would be helpfull. Alternatives are fine, but any insights into the current scenario? assuming dependencies, re-naming etc are followed properly.
Another Question - Does DNS/AD has any mapping between Wincls1 & Sqlcls1 that need to be updated?
